THE APPROACH
Understand the donor. Choose the technique.
The right hair transplant technique depends on your donor hair, degree of hair loss, hairstyle preferences and long-term restoration plan.
01
ASSESS YOUR DONOR
We evaluate donor density, follicle characteristics, scalp condition and available graft supply.
02
PLAN THE TECHNIQUE
The harvesting and implantation approach is selected according to your anatomy, hair-loss pattern and treatment goals.
03
DESIGN FOR THE FUTURE
Hairline design, graft distribution and donor preservation are planned with long-term hair loss in mind.
TYPES & CONSIDERATIONS
What influences the technique?
Hair transplant techniques differ mainly in how grafts are harvested, how the donor area is managed and how follicles are placed.
UNDERSTANDING THE TECHNIQUES
What the evidence
supports.
Hair transplantation is not simply about choosing the newest-sounding technique. Donor management, graft quality, hairline design and surgical execution are critical regardless of the method used.
FUE and FUT harvest grafts differently.
With FUE, individual follicular units are excised from the donor area using small punches. With FUT, a strip of donor scalp is removed and follicular units are dissected from it.
Implantation is another part of the procedure.
Hair grafts can be inserted through prepared recipient sites or using specialised implanter devices. “DHI” generally refers to an implantation technique using sharp implanters rather than a completely separate donor-harvesting method.
Technique should follow assessment.
There is no single FUE approach that is automatically best for every patient. Hair characteristics, donor supply and surgical planning influence the appropriate method.

Advanced Hair Restoration
Technique selected around you.
FUE Hair Transplant
Individual hair follicles are carefully extracted from the donor area and implanted into thinning or bald areas.
DHI Hair Transplant
Specialised implanter tools help place grafts directly with controlled depth, angle and direction for natural-looking results.
Sapphire FUE Technique
Fine sapphire blades are used to create precise recipient channels for accurate graft placement and refined hairline design.
Micro-FUE Technique
Smaller extraction punches support precise follicle harvesting while helping minimise unnecessary trauma to the donor area.
Unshaven FUE Technique
Selected follicles can be extracted without fully shaving the surrounding hair, offering a more discreet transplant option.
Combination Hair Transplant
Multiple transplant techniques can be combined based on donor strength, graft requirement and the patient’s hair restoration goals.
THE CLINICIANS
Precision-led, every step.
Hair transplantation requires careful planning of the donor area, hairline, graft distribution and implantation direction before the surgical technique is selected.

THE QUESTIONS
Good to know.
The two principal donor-harvesting approaches are FUE and FUT. Different implantation and shaving approaches can then be used depending on the transplant plan.
FUE removes individual follicular units from the donor area using small punches before they are transplanted into the recipient area.
FUT uses strip harvesting to obtain donor follicles, which are then separated into follicular-unit grafts for transplantation.
Neither technique is automatically best for every patient. Donor characteristics, hair loss, graft requirements, scarring preferences and long-term planning influence the choice.
DHI generally describes how grafts are implanted using an implanter. FUE describes how grafts are harvested, so they refer to different stages of transplantation.
Sapphire FUE generally refers to an FUE procedure in which sapphire instruments are used during part of recipient-site preparation. It is not a separate donor-harvesting technique recognised by ISHRS.
Selected partial-shave or unshaven FUE approaches are possible, although they can be technically more demanding and may not suit every patient.
No hair transplant surgery is truly scar-free. FUE generally leaves multiple small round scars rather than the linear scar associated with FUT.
A donor-area and hair-loss assessment helps determine the most appropriate harvesting, implantation and hairline strategy for your individual case.
